Perugia is the largest city in Umbria and the capital of the region. It is a beautiful hilltop city with many vantage points for fantastic photo opportunities of the surrounding countryside. The historic centre is easy to explore on foot and combines a mix of historic sites and squares with a wide variety of bars and restaurants as well as high end shopping, to give this unique city a cosmopolitan feel.

There is no better way to arrive in Perugia than by taking the mini Metro, which winds its way from the lower part of Perugia up to the historic centre. The journey is an experience in itself and is an ideal introduction to this bustling city. Alternatively, you can ascend to the top of town via a series of escalators that pass through the medieval underground tunnels upon which the former fortress Rocca Paolina was constructed.

Todi is a relatively small hilltop village which culminates at its impressive main square, Piazza del Popolo, featuring the gothic Cathedral and three palaces that will take you back in time to the Middle Ages. The imposing Church of San Fortunato is also well worth a visit, if you don't mind climbing or zig-zagging your way up a long flight of stairs. We will take you to the best places in Todi to make the most of its elevated position and capture the most amazing views.

Deruta has been known for its excellent quality majolica ceramics for over 300 years. It has a quaint old town in the upper part where the cobble-stoned streets are lined with dozens of small ceramic shops and workshops displaying their wares.

Time permitting, we will stop to visit the unusual and very interesting sanctuary of the Madonna dei Bagni just outside of Deruta. It is a shrine dating back 400 years that has its walls adorned with about 700 votive tiles, each one painted to give thanks to the Madonna and depicting a scene in which the Madonna was asked to intervene and grant a miracle.
