Villages of Umbria
Full Day Tour of Montefalco and Bevagna
You may have already heard of Montefalco due to its famous Sagrantino wine. Besides the fantastic wine, it is also a beautiful hilltop village with magical views. The old town is easy to explore, with its gradual incline leading up to the main piazza where you will find a selection of restaurants to enjoy a leisurely lunch featuring typical Umbrian cuisine. Along the way, there are many hidden treasures to discover, such as a boutique specialising in hand-made leather (you can have your own unique belt or bracelet created) and a shop offering local ceramics and even some Murano glass jewellery from Venice. If you are all wined out, we can take you to a store where you can sample some refreshing Umbrian beer.
We like to think of Bevagna as the "little sister" to Montefalco. It is not quite as well-known as Montefalco, but it is getting there due to its own attractions such as its 19th century Roman theatre that is now part of living history, its ancient walls and medieval Roman mosaics. Another plus is that Bevagna is relatively flat, making it very easy to explore this delightful village on foot.
Our private full day tour will allow you to experience all that both Montefalco and Bevagna have to offer, with time for a relaxing lunch (meal not included) in a restaurant or trattoria of your choice. Time permitting, we can even take you to winery to sample some of the full-bodied Sagrantino wine. Perhaps pick up a bottle or 2 of this unique inky purple wine to take with you to enjoy back at your accommodation while you reminisce.

Civita di Bagnoregio - A fairytale medieval village
Situated just outside of Umbria (in Lazio) and in our opinon well worth a visit, Civita di Bagnoregio dates back more than 2500 years and is a small town perched on top of a volcanic plug that is connected to the world by a 300 metre long footbridge. Have your camera ready as each step provides another breathtaking view, these views continue all the way to the top and as you enter through the main gate, a Romanesque arch. Now you have arrived to the charms of a village that captivates travellers from all over the world. The town is small enough to explore on foot with numerous restaurants, bars, local artisan shops, lanes and pathways that become a photographer's dream.
Given the proximity of Civita di Bagnoregio to Orvieto, we recommend combining the two in
one of our private full day tours.
